Criteria

The National Angling Records are accessible to all persons, regardless of Citizenship provided that the fish meets the following criteria.

  • The fish has to be caught by the person claiming the fish;
  • The fish has to be caught in Zimbabwe waters;
  • the weight of the fish has to be checked by a responsible person;
  • the scale used has to be checked for accuracy;
  • a claim form has to be completed and submitted to the record keeper;
  • a photograph of the fish, together with several scales are also required to substantiate identification;

Note: If the fish is to be frozen, then the weight has to be recorded prior to freezing.

The application for a Claim Form should be made to the General Manager of Charara

Upper Savi
Headwaters of the Savi river above the Chivirira falls

Lower Savi
The Savi river below the Chivirira falls to the confluence of the Savi and Rhundi rivers to the Mocambique Border

Upper Rhundi
Headwaters of the Rhundi river above the Selawandoma falls

Lower Rhundi
The Rhundi river below the Selawandoma falls to the confluence of the Savi and Rhundi rivers to the Mocambique Border

Upper Zambezi
Main Zambezi River and its South Bank tributaries from the Chobe/Zambezi Confluence to Victoria Falls

Lake Kariba
From below the Victoria Falls to the Lake Kariba dam wall, including all south bank tributaries

Middle Zambezi
Zambezi river below the Kariba dam wall to the Luangwa/Zambezi Confluance. All south bank tributaries flowing into the Zambezi river between the Kariba and Cabora Bassa dam walls

Lower Zambezi
Zimbabwe South bank tributaries which flow into the Zambezi river
