Who Are We
Charara Site is a Deed of Grant asset of the National Anglers
Union of Zimbabwe
It is utilized by members of the Union and their guests for
angling and recreational purposes.
The site is located in a National Parks Recreational area 25 km east of Kariba, adjoining Charara Bay and the Eastern Basin of Lake Kariba.
The site hosts numerous angling tournaments, competitions and social events throughout the year, including the annual Kariba Invitational Tiger Fish Tournament (Kitft), Test of the Best, National, Inter provincial and numerous club competitions and leagues.
Charara has in recent years also become very popular with wedding receptions being held on site. Our well groomed lawns and camping areas aspire well to these occasions.
The annual New Year Party for our younger community is also hosted here.

Road Directions To Charara Site
Turn off left along the main Makuti to Kariba Road at the 51
km peg, proceed for 3.2 km's on the gravel road, then take
the right fork at the "Y" junction, the first
habitation you arrive at on the left is Charara.
The main gate and entrance is clearly visible.
Great Facilities
Charara have 8 self catering chalets which are hired to
members and their guests at very competitive rates.
Chalet numbers 1 to 4 are fully furnished and equipped to cater
for 6 persons each. These Chalets are located in prime locations
and have excellent views overlooking the Charara river.
The remaining 4 chalets, numbered 5 to 8, cater for 2 persons
each and are furnished with basic sleeping essentials and
fans.
In addition, the site has a large well maintaned camping area complete with ablutions, electrical power points, a swimming pool and boat launching facilities, the launch facilities cater for both self launch, or site tractor launch.
The Site has a shop, where we offer ice, refreshments and basic groceries.
Come and try our meals at our own River Bend Restaurant, we are renown for our prawn dish
